Deer River man pleads guilty to a stabbing in Grand Rapids

Itasca Co., Minn. (NNCNOW.com) - 31-year-old Dana Allen Middleton of Deer River, Minnesota pleaded guilty to two counts of felony second degree assault in connection with a stabbing in downtown Grand Rapids on February 25, 2014.

According to the criminal complaint, Grand Rapids police responded to the 500 block of Canal Street, around 1:00 a.m. on a report of a victim suffering from a large cut and puncture wound.

The victim later identified Middleton as the person responsible for the assault.

Middleton remains in custody facing a maximum of 8 years in prison.

A sentencing date has been set for April 14.
