Duluth Police Warn of Overdoses, Link to Heroin Use

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth police are warning of recent overdoses which they believe are linked to heroin use.

According to the Duluth Police Department, police and emergency responders have handled four overdose cases between April 26th and May 4th. Three of the overdoses have happened since Saturday.

Police say four people have overdosed on heroin, based on information at the scene. All were taken to the hospital, but none have died.

Authorities say similar reports of overdoses and increased heroin use are continuing to occur state and nationwide.

Authorities are investigating the source of the increase. Persons with information related to narcotics activity are encouraged to call the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force at 218-730-5750.
