Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Duluth Police are urging the public to be extra careful when securing tools and materials at unattended construction sites.

Police say a crime pattern has developed in various locations throughout Duluth in recent weeks.

The crimes include break-ins to construction trailers and vehicles used to store expensive tools, building materials and copper/brass items.

Structures under construction have also been broken into and tools, materials and other items have been taken.

Recording serial numbers, marking items or installing a security system at construction sites or in vehicles will help law enforcement recover stolen items.

Call 911 if you witness any suspicious activity.
