Redby, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Five men and two women are in custody after a 10 hour stand-off on the Red Lake Reservation.
Authorities say they received a call around 5:15 a.m. Friday indicating that shots were fired inside a Red Lake home, just west of Redby.
Police say once at the home, they heard people inside and were told to get away from the door.
As police headed back to their cars, they heard shots fired from inside the house.
Shrapnel from the gun shots hit one of the officer's vehicles. Officials believe a fully automatic A-K-47 was involved.
After back up arrived, officials were able to get several people from in the house out safely with the exception of two men.
"Read Lake Department of Public safety officers and myself, um, we approached the house and we shot the house with tear gas and the other two individuals came out," said Kelly Brunelle, a criminal investigator with the Red Lake Police Dept.
Beltrami County and Minnesota State Patrol Tactical Squads assisted along with The Border Patrol, ATF, BCA and the FBI.
No one was hurt during the incident, which remains under investigation.
