Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- First degree murder charges have been filed against 21 year old Tiawain Johnson in connection with the January 2012 murder of Toriano Cooper.

Johnson was arrested in Chicago.

He was already in custody in Chicago on an unrelated charge when Superior police asked for him to be held on charges of First degree murder.

He's currently in the Cook County Jail but is expected to be extradited to Superior shortly.

Court documents filed in Douglas County say Johnson shot Cooper while he worked on a car outside his house in Superior.

Detectives believe the shooting may have been drug related and that Cooper may have been involved in a robbery of Johnson a few weeks prior to the murder.

Cooper's Fiancé is glad an arrest has been made.

She says Cooper was a great man and was taken too soon.

"He was a father, he was a son, he was a dad, he was a nephew, he was an uncle, and it's just not fair," says Kristina Lampi.

If Johnson is convicted of first degree intentional homicide he faces a life sentence.

Johnson was living in Superior at the time of the shooting and has since been living in the Chicago area.
