Five Iron Rangers Arrested for Possible Racially Motivated Assault

Hibbing, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Five people have been arrested for an alleged racially–motivated assault over the weekend in Hibbing.

Police were called to the 1900 Block of 4th Avenue East in Hibbing to an altercation in the parking lot around one Saturday morning.

When officers arrived, they found a 52 year old man bleeding heavily from the head.

The man was rushed to UMCM with serious injuries.

Three others were also taken to the hospital with less serious injuries.

Formal charges of assault are pending against the five who were arrested in connection with the fight.

The man with the most serious injuries told police he believes the fight was racially motivated.

Police are still investigating this incident.

Meanwhile Hibbing Police also arrested 16 other people at the dance party for incidents not related to the fight.
