High Speed Chase Through West Duluth, Suspects Flee on Foot

A high speed chase ensued through West Duluth Monday afternoon.

Two men were reportedly seen stealing and driving a Superior Light and Power vehicle.

Police pursued the vehicle over the Bong Bridge onto Grand Avenue.

The vehicle was seen driving at excess speeds of 55 miles per hour, hitting signs and narrowly missing children on the road.

After coming to a stop on the block of Cody Street and Grand Avenue, the men were seen fleeing from the vehicle on foot.

Shortly after, officers arrived to the scene and surrounded the perimeter and blocked off exits.

Onlookers described the scene as intense.

As of 3:15 p.m. officers are still looking for the people involved.
