Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The owner of the Last Place on Earth is back behind bars tonight just one day after posting bail.

Duluth Police say Jim Carlson violated an active federal probation tied to his 54 count indictment by a grand jury for alleged sale of illegal synthetic drugs.

The U.S. Marshal took Carlson into custody.

Police say the violation involves the seizure of a gun during a police raid at the head shop last Friday.

Carlson will now need to appear before a Federal Magistrate.

He will spend time in jail until then. Police say bail is not an option.

The arrest happened just after 8 p.m. Wednesday at the store which was closed shortly after.

On Tuesday, Carlson posted a $450,000 bail related to Friday's arrest after he allegedly sold bath salts to under-cover officers.
