Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A jury has found a prominent Eau Claire doctor not guilty on 14 of 16 counts of sexual assaulting young patients.

The verdict came down Thursday in favor of Doctor David Van De Loo after more than 20 hours of deliberations.

The jury was unable to come to an agreement on two counts.

As a result, the judge declared a mistrial on the first two counts.

The former Eau Claire doctor was charged with sixteen counts of sexual assault involving fifteen young male patients of his.

The trial lasted nearly three weeks.

The case was heard in Douglas County due to extensive media coverage in Eau Claire.
