Hinckley, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A 45 year old Hinckley man has been charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and could face up to 30 years behind bars.
Jesse Michael Ericson was arrested back in April for probable cause of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The arrest stemmed from information sent to the East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force that Ericson was allegedly trying to hire someone to murder an ex-girlfriend.
Task Force agents set up meetings across Hinckley between Ericson and an undercover agent posing as a hired assassin over the course of several days.
It is alleged that during these meetings, Ericson discussed a contract to have his ex-girlfriend kidnapped, kept alive and held as a sex slave. The alleged contracted price for this crime was set at $150,000. These meetings were audio and video recorded.
Ericson is currently being held at the Pine County Jail.
Ericson is also charged with criminal sexual conduct and violating orders for protection in separate incidents occurring in Pine County. He is also facing charges in Isanti and Becker Counties for other criminal incidents.
The East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force is a formal organization formed and governed by a Joint Powers Agreement between Chisago, Isanti, and Pine Counties.
