Hudson, WI (NNCNOW.com) - The man accused of killing his three daughters in River Falls, Wisconsin last summer will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Aaron Schaffhausen was given the maximum penalty of life in prison without parole Monday in St. Croix County Court.

Schaffhausen had pleaded guilty in the deaths of the girls but claimed he was insane at the time of the killings.

A jury disagreed during his trial in April, finding that the 35-year-old Schaffhausen was sane when he slit the throats of his 11, 8 and 5 year old daughters.
