Blackduck Man Indicted in Alleged Deadly Drunk Driving Incident

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A 27 year old Blackduck man has been indicted on two federal counts of involuntary manslaughter in connecting with a fatal car accident.

The indictment alleges Dustin Michael Johnson was driving the car while under the influence of alcohol.

A young woman from Redby, Minnesota died in the October 23 crash last year.

The indictment alleges Johnson killed the woman without malice.

If convicted, Johnson faces a potential maximum penalty of eight years in prison on each count.

Because the Red Lake Indian Reservation is a federal-jurisdiction reservation the FBI assisted in the investigation and the case was turned over to the federal court.
