Pine City, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- A man is in serious, but stable condition after he was stabbed by a known acquaintance and underwent emergency surgery to save his life.
On Sunday, the Pine County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a stabbing.
During the call, officers learned that the victim had been stabbed earlier in the day and had been transported by a car to a hospital in Mora, then by ambulance to a different hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
When deputies arrived to the hospital, they discovered the man was stabbed at a residence on Tigua Road, west of Pine City earlier in the day after an altercation.
Authorities reported to the residence to gather information and interview witnesses.
The man's name is being withheld at this time.
The Sheriff's Office has named a person of interest, but no one is in custody at this time.
The investigation continues.
