Missing suspect faces charges after Saturday altercation

Virginia, MN (NNCNOW.com) —– An altercation near the Sports Palace on Saturday night has left Virginia Police searching for a suspect.

The St. Louis County Attorney is trying to find Michael Antwan Johnson who has an extensive criminal record.

Johnson is facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, second degree assault, and endangering safety by intentional discharge of a firearm.

On April Fifth the Virginia Police Department was patrolling the 100 block of Fifth Avenue South around two a.m. when an officer was approached by several people who said they saw Johnson fire four or five rounds down Chestnut Street.

No shell casings were found in the area but a 45– caliber revolver was located on the 200 block of Fifth Avenue South.

The weapon was sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension which said the serial number revealed the weapon had been reported stolen on November 23, 2013.

Johnson's whereabouts are currently unknown, and a warrant is out for his arrest.
