Murder Suspect Makes Initial Court Appearance after Charges

-- The man accused of murder in the death of a Floodwood woman was in a Carlton County Courtroom Monday.

Michael Siewert is one two people charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the death of 25-year-old Cristyna Watson.

Authorities discovered her body near Cloquet in October. A criminal complaint says Watson died of strangulation.

Carlton County Attorney Thom Pertler says today marked Siewert's first court appearance after charges.
