Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A new effort in Duluth aims to fight human sex-trafficking. The non-profit organization, "A Beautiful Rescue," says the problem plagues our community.

An event, Friday, December 2, 7-10PM at the Zeitgeist Arts Café, hopes to increase awareness about the issue, to celebrate stories of rescue and to raise funding to help the cause.

All proceeds will be used by A Beautiful Rescue to provide aftercare needs to victims. This could include purchasing a safe home or aiding aftercare needs through local service providers, such as, housing, basic living items, and counseling.

Tickets can be purchased at the door with credit card, cash, or check. Free parking is located behind the Sheraton Hotel at 3rd Avenue East and 1st Street. (Bring your parking ramp ticket with you to be validated).
