Webster, NY (NNCNOW.com) - Police have identified the two firefighters killed by a gunman in Western New York as they responded to a house fire.

One of the two was Michael Chiapperini, a 43-year-old "lifetime firefighter" who was also a police lieutenant and public information officer for the Webster Police Department.

The other was Tomasz Kaczowka, who also worked as a 911 dispatcher.

Two other firefighters were injured by gunman William Spengler. They are expected to recover.

Police suspect that Spengler may have set the fires in order to lay a trap for first responders.
