Grand Rapids, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota BCA says no charges will be filed in the officer involved shooting in Grand Rapids back on July 4th.
The BCA handed over their investigation to the Crow Wing County Attorney's Office for review. Crow Wing County Prosecutors released their decision, saying Officer William Saw and his use of force was reasonable, legitimate and restrained to that which was necessary.
Prosecutors also concluded that there is no probable cause that a crime was committed by Officer Saw.
Back on July 4th, the Itasca County Sheriff's Office was involved in a high speed pursuit, where the suspect allegedly tried to ram and run patrol units and civilians off the road.
Officer Saw discharged his duty weapon into the suspect vehicle when the car entered Grand Rapids city limits. Neither the officer or suspect were injured. Officer Saw has been put on standard paid administrative leave since the incident.
Officer Saw is a 3 year veteran with the Grand Rapids Police Department.
