Proctor, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The city of Proctor is stepping up in the fight against synthetic drugs.

In a 4-1 vote Tuesday, the City Council passed an ordinance banning the usage and sale of synthetics in their community.

It also goes a step further and bans any synthetic drugs shops from opening their doors in Proctor.

According to City Councilor Jim Schwarzbauer, it's the toughest ordinance to be passed in the Northland.

It takes effect October 1st.
