Purse Snatching Warning in Downtown Duluth

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A warning from police about a surge in purse snatchings in downtown Duluth.

Duluth Police say it's happened twice this week.

Once in the parking ramp next to the Fon-du-Luth Casino, the other on the 100 block of North Third Avenue East.

Police say the victim in the first case described the suspect as a black man in his 20's,5' 6'', with an average build.

The other victim reported the suspect at about 5' 6'' - 5' 8'' with a thinner build wearing a ski mask.

Duluth Police remind citizens to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to 911. Anyone with any information related to these crimes is asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5050.
