Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A 15-year-old runaway is facing felony charges after being found on school grounds with a steel pipe and knife.
Hibbing Police say the male teenager, a runaway from Aitkin County, hitched a ride with a man and told him he was headed toward Hibbing High School.
When the teen arrived at the school, police arrested him and found he was carrying a 27 inch pipe and a small folding knife.
Police say at no time were any students or faculty at risk or danger.
The teen faces a total of two felony counts of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, 2nd degree attempted assault and one count of trespassing.
Authorities say the teen planned to meet someone he met through a social media connection.
