Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Arizona man accused of a fatal shooting in Superior last week has waived extradition from Minnesota.

The office of the Northeastern Minnesota Chief Public Defender said today 41-year-old Juan Padilla will face charges in Superior in connection with the death of Terrance Luukkonen.

Padilla, a 20-year war veteran and former Arizona Police officer, is accused of shooting 46-year-old Luukkonen in the head last week in the parking lot of Genesis Attachments.

Police say Luukkoen's fiancé was the former girlfriend of Padilla.

Padilla could face a judge in Douglas County as soon as later this week.
