Solon Springs, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Superior Police Department is wrapping up an investigation into accusations of sexual assault by a police officer of the Town of Solon Springs.

Superior Police say they have been actively investigating these allegations since June 16th and will be sending their findings to the District Attorney's Office for review on possible charges.

According to authorities, a 27 year old woman reported that she had been picked up by the officer after being found walking on US Hwy 53 in the Solon Springs area at 10:30 PM on June 15.

The officer was driving a marked Solon Springs PD vehicle at the time and was on-duty.

The woman says that the officer offered to drive her to Superior, so she could use a phone to arrange a ride to a relative’s home in Northern MN.

She stated that instead, she was allegedly driven to the suspect's home in Solon Springs and offered alcohol. She stated that while at the home, there were unwanted sexual advances and sexual contact with her by the officer. She stated that the suspect dropped her off at the St. Croix Inn, located in Solon Springs, just before 2:00 AM on June 16th.

The officer has been placed on an Administrative Leave status by the Town and Village of Solon Springs during this investigation.

Authorities with the Superior Police continue to investigation this case.
