Baltimore, Maryland (Northland's NewsCenter) -- One student was shot at a Baltimore High School on Monday, the first day back from summer vacation.
According to the New York Daily News, the shooting at Perry Hall High School was reported around 11 a.m. and within minutes SWAT teams surrounded the school.
Students were seen evacuating the buildings.
Police apprehended the gunman; the name of the suspect is not known.
The victim, who had been reportedly shot in the back, was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital where the condition is unknown, the New York Daily News Reports.
Perry Hall is located in a suburb north of Baltimore, comprising 2,300 students.
