Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- Details have been released surrounding a Superior child abuse case in which a man is accused of biting his infant son multiple times.
24-year-old Byron Benson is charged with one count of physical abuse of a child with the intent to cause bodily harm.
The charge stems from an incident Monday night when officers were called to a home on Banks Avenue on reports of child abuse.
When they arrived, they found a mother holding her three month old son who had numerous bite marks.
The criminal complaint says the baby had bite marks on both legs, a large bruise and abrasions on his left cheek, a faint bite mark on his nose, a bite mark on his right cheek and a deep bite mark on his right shoulder.
When authorities interviewed Benson, he told them he had blacked out for approximately five minutes from either the sound of his son crying or the TV being too loud.
He told police when he awoke his son was still crying and there were several bite marks on him.
Benson eventually admitted to authorities that he had bitten the baby.
Doctors say the baby had approximately eleven bite marks.
The judge set bail at $750 dollars and ordered Benson to have no contact with his infant son and no unsupervised contact with any children under ten.
