Suspect in custody following officer involved shooting in NW Minnesota

Ada, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A suspect has been arrested following an officer involved shooting in northwestern Minnesota Tuesday morning.

A Norman County Sheriff deputy was conducting a traffic stop around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 39 & County Road 12. The deputy arrested one of the individuals in the vehicle.

During the incident, the other person in the vehicle shot the deputy. The deputy was wearing a bullet resistant vest and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The deputy returned fire, but the suspect fled in the vehicle. A manhunt ensued, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident a short time later.

The Norman County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating this incident
