(Northland's NewsCenter) -- Austin Davis, the 18 year old man who took part in the brutal stabbing murder of 93-year-old Irena Roszak in Sawyer County, was in court today hoping to re-negotiate the length of his sentence.
Davis pleaded guilty to second degree intentional homicide and was sentenced to 25 years in prison and 15 years probation.
Davis’ attorney requested a new pre-sentence investigation pointing to errors in the initial investigation done by the state.
The pre-sentence investigation said Davis had been convicted of Burglary, which he had not been. The judge ruled that the state should conduct a more thorough investigation.
Davis was sentenced in January of 2011. Last month 30-year-old, Christopher Roalson, was convicted of first degree intentional homicide and burglary with a deadly weapon in the Irena Roszak murder.
Davis will be back in court in November.
