Virginia, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A Virginia man has been charged with assault, terroristic threats and a DWI after he allegedly rammed a car multiple times.

30 year old James Michael Richards has been charged with four counts of Second Degree Assault, two counts of Terroristic Threats, one count First Degree Criminal Damage to Property and one count of Third Degree Driving While Impaired.

According to the criminal complaint, Sheila and Jeffrey Henry along with their grandchildren were leaving Super One around 7:48pm on Tuesday when a Chevy Suburban rear-ended their car.

Sheila Henry told authorities that the Suburban hit their car from behind two times.

Mrs. Henry says in the complaint that she pulled into the left turn lane at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Chestnut Street when the Suburban pulled up next to her car. She says that the driver got out and began "beating" on the passenger side of her car and called her a crack head whore.

Mrs. Henry says she tried telling the suspect that there were small children in the car.

The complaint states that Richards then got back into his car and continued along 6th Avenue. Sheila Henry says she followed Richards in an attempt to get a license plate number as her husband called 911.

Richards then allegedly rammed the car again by putting his vehicle into reverse and hitting the front of the car.

Sheila and Jeffrey Henry followed Richards to the 600 Block of 5th Street South where he parked his car and said that he was going into the house to get a gun and shoot them.

Authorities say that a woman came out of the house and was grabbing and yelling at Richards until they went inside their residence.

Officers responded to Richards' house and took him into custody.

Authorities say that Richards blew a .12 when he took a breath test.
