Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A 54-year-old man is recovering in a Duluth hospital after being stabbed in the stomach.

Police say the man confronted a juvenile who was driving a snowmobile in the alley behind his home on the 10 block of North 65th Avenue West in West Duluth.

It happened Thursday night just before 9 p.m.

Several friends of the snowmobiler came to his side after the two began fighting. Police say the victim swung an object at the group, hitting one of them.

That's when a 17-year-old then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

A charge of 2nd degree assault is pending.

The victim is said to be in stable condition.
