Wisconsin driver cited for OWI, disorderly conduct in rollover

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A southern Wisconsin man was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and other violations following a one vehicle rollover in Superior on Monday.

Police say the 44-year-old driver rolled his truck off the eastbound lanes of the US Highway 2 Bong Bridge ramp just after 8 p.m. The truck came to a rest with its passenger side on the ground.

The driver was extricated from the truck and taken to Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In addition to the OWI, the driver was also cited for have an open bottle of alcohol in the truck and disorderly contact.

In Wisconsin, a conviction for 1st Offense OWI is not a crime punishable by jail time. It is a non-criminal offense punishable by a fine and driver's license restrictions.
