Woman charged after fatal vehicle, bicycle collision

Cass County, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A 24-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Cass County.

Kerri Marie Zelinkse was arraigned in Cass County Court on three felony counts of Criminal Vehicular Homicide following a motor vehicle and bicycle collision on October 10.

She is also charged with two counts of driving under the influence.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Zelinske's Kia Sportage was traveling southbound on Gull Lake Drive when it allegedly struck the bicyclist

Authorities say that she was driving negligently and was drunk when she struck and killed the 57-year-old Brainerd man.

If convicted, Zelinske could face more than 30 years in prison.

Bail has been set at $150,000.

Zelinske is expected to be back in court on October 21.
