Cloquet, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A two hour telethon in Duluth last night has raised nearly 10-thousand dollars for tornado relief across the nation.

The Northland's News Center and Como Oil partnered with the Northland Chapter of the Red Cross to ask for our viewer's help for the thousands of victims of a string of deadly tornados this spring.

Both Channel Six and Channel three had cut-ins through their broadcasts showing the telethon and asking for your contributions.

Phones rang throughout the two hour event and when the night came to an end a total donation showed eight thousand six hundred and eighty three dollars was raised with more pledged.

One of the biggest donations of the night came from two fourth grade students from Churchill elementary in Cloquet.

They were able to raise the money with the help of their classmates and brought in a total of three hundred and sixty-two dollars and 22-cents.
