CSS Oldest Living Graduate Helps Kick Off New School year

Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Students at the college of St. Scholastica in Duluth kicked off the school year Thursday with a special guest.

The oldest surviving CSS nursing graduate, 101-year-old Margeret
Beketic helped welcome the freshman class.

Beketic graduated from St. Scholastica's School of Nursing in 1935.
She and 30 others who graduated more than 50 years ago...were part of Thursday's ceremony which featured an academic procession led by the bagpipes.

Beketic says she is was excited to return to campus after so many years.

"It is something I have never in my whole life ever dreamed of having. I never ever thought I would see this day," said Beketic.

More than four thousand students are enrolled for this academic year at the College of St Scholastica.
