DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The Duluth Public School board has approved a site plan for Congdon Park Elementary and board members say they believe it best balances the needs of students and sports programs.
The board members looked at four different proposed plans.
Member Mary Cameron said after a long discussion, the board chose the plan that maintains the budget and improves educational opportunities for kids and safety.
It includes retaining walls, a smaller ice space, parking and safe pick-up and drop-off, but no warming shack.
However, Cameron says the District is exploring options of how to fund a new warming shack.
A partnership with the City of Duluth is one of those options.
