DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - A committee is working at this hour on a Congdon Park school site plan in hopes of balancing parking, safety, green space and ice rink needs.

Members of the community had spoken-out at last week's school board meeting, after plans showed the ice rinks and green space could be in jeopardy, and more parking put in.

Wednesday, the committee worked on a design they hope will conserve green space and ice rinks, and be safe.

"I'm hopeful that, that that will be the case so, we've brought some more creative people to the table on our own side doing some research and things, so I really think and I'm hopeful that that will be the case," said Sara Vallie, one of the committee members.

The School Board had post-poned the decision on the grounds site plans at the last meeting to allow more time for revisions.

The committee hopes to have a new design ready by January 31.
