DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Tuesday the Duluth Public Schools Board made its first round of teacher cuts effective at the close of the school year to help close the district's projected deficit.

Board members voted to make cuts affecting six certified non-tenured teachers, who have been in the district fewer than three years.

The board will make its second round of teacher cuts in June, regarding tenured teachers.

The board also voted to close the Morgan Park School as part of the Red Plan.

The revamped future land-use map for Central High School, showing business park and recreational space was also approved.
