Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - At-Large Duluth City Council and School Board candidates faced off at two separate public forums.

Four candidates; Zack Filipovich, Barb Russ, Ray Sandman and Ryan Stauber are vying for the two open at-large City Council seats.

They squared off over a number of issues from economic development to city finances.

The forum was hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth's office of Civic Engagement, UMD's Journalism Program and the Student Association.

UMD journalism students generated Tuesday's questions.

Meanwhile, candidates vying for a seat on the Duluth School Board also faced off in their own forum.

The meeting held at Myers-Wilkins Elementary school brought together candidates from first and fourth districts as well as candidates in the at-large race.

School board hopefuls weighed in on the proposed operating levies and the current conditions of Duluth schools.

On November 5th, Duluth voters will have the opportunity to vote on two school levy referendum questions.
