Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The Hermantown school board approved a long-range facilities plan for the district in a 6-0 vote Monday.
The nearly $50 million citizen-driven plan was presented to the board in April.
The plan addresses some much needed improvements in the Hermantown school district.
Findings of a recent study indicated that the facilities did not meet many of the Minnesota Department of Education adequacy guidelines.
Some of the problems the schools face include, air quality, space issues and out dated buildings.
The plan will now be sent to the Minnesota Department of Education for review and approval.
