DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Hundreds of future students checked out Denfeld and East high schools in Duluth Monday as part of their freshman orientation.
At Denfeld, about 300 students make-up what will be the freshman class next Fall.
Most of the students and their parents showed-up to meet teachers and staff, and to learn about classes, registration and how to have a successful high school career.
"My best advice to every student walking through the doors of Denfeld is get involved. This school is about involvement, trust and getting to know your teachers and the staff and your fellow peers," said Tonya Sconiers, the interim principal at Denfeld.
Students also got a chance to tour the building, many parts of which are only one year old.
