Ironwood Helping to Keep Seniors Safe

Ironwood, MI (NNCNOW.com) --- The Ironwood Public Safety Department is implementing a new program designed to keeping seniors safe.

The Senior Safety Program is a program to educate and provide assistance to seniors in need. The topics of the program will address fire safety, theft, elder abuse, fraudulent mail and phone scams.

Nearly 25 million Americans are victims of consumer fraud each year. It is estimated that 65% of these victims are seniors. Con artists believe that senior citizens are vulnerable more susceptible to their tricks.

The Ironwood Public Safety Department will be holding a 1 hour presentation on the program on April 24 at Pioneer Park at 12:30 and again at 6:30. If you are interested, please call (906)932-1234 to reserve a spot.
