(Northland's NewsCenter) -- Those who enjoy running or walking for a good cause than the Polar Bear Walk or Run 5k held in Four Corners Saturday morning was the place to be.

A one mile race started kicked off the event at 9:05 AM with the 5k starting shortly behind it at 9:20 AM.

Over a hundred people participated in the event this year.

With all the proceeds going towards new technology for the Four Corners Elementary School volunteers say it was great to see everyone from the community come together for the great cause.

"The money goes towards technology funds for the building, so we'll be able to buy some things hopefully maybe in interactive whiteboard, and maybe a few other things for the kids in the classrooms," Volunteer, Stefanie Smatak said.

A check presentation will be held at the Four Corners Elementary on April, 9th at 1:45 P.M.
