Board members Art Johnston and Gary Glass have also called for the meeting out of concern for misinformation being sent out by the Board in regard to the operating levvy.

Johnston claims that it's an issue of trust, and that the people of Duluth have a right to proper information concerning both the levvy and the Red Plan.

Johnston says he has tried many times to bring his concerns to the attention of the Board, and has called for this special meeting as a result of his requests being largely ignored.

"I'm finding that, even as a school board member, I have no access, no transparency, no communication. In fact, every step of the way I'm stymied and I'm an elected official. And If I'm an elected official that gets stymied every step of the way you can see what the people in Duluth are thinking," said Johnston

Johnston also stresses that, with the upcoming elections, School Board discussions about these multi–million dollar decisions has never been more of a priority.
