DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Today current and former students got together to say good-bye to their alma mater, Lincoln Park Elementary School.

Students gave tours of the building and then everyone went outside for a celebration.

The school is closing as part of the Duluth School District consolidation and upgrades.

Lincoln's students will attend the new Piedmont school next year.
The good-bye party was part of the school's annual end-of-the-year extravaganza.

"It signifies a tremendous loss to the community. A lot of people came today to tour the school and look over the school that they once went to," said organizer Deb Montgomery.

Even though the students will be moving on school, organizers of today's events plan to continue hosting the end-of-the-year extravaganza at the new school.
