Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- To honor her support and commitment to the University of Minnesota Duluth, the college will rename their library next week to the Kathryn A. Martin Library.

Martin served as chancellor of UMD from 1995-2010. She was the first female chancellor in the University of Minnesota system.

Martin will be honored on October 7th for her efforts to fund and construct many projects across the campus including the $26 million state of the art UMD library in 2000.

Several activities will be held next Monday for the dedication event, including library tours from 3-3:30 p.m., a Dedication Ceremony held in the library from 3:30-4:15 p.m., an all-campus reception in the library from 4:15-5 p.m., and the 12th Annual Weber Concert in the Weber Music Hall beginning at 7:30 pm.
