DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Minnesota and Wisconsin are ranked among states with the highest graduation rates in the country.
The data comes from a recently released report by America's Promise Alliance.
In 2009, Wisconsin was the only state to reach 90 percent of students graduating.
Vermont was a close second, followed by North Dakota and Minnesota, tied at 87.4 percent.
President Obama has set a goal of bringing the national graduation rate up from 75 percent to 90 percent by 2020.
States in the South are shown to have some of the lowest graduation rates including South Carolina, Nevada, Georgia and Mississippi.
