Hermantown, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- With just five days until the election, candidates vying for a spot on the Hermantown City Council had one last chance to get their voices heard.
Gloria Nelson and incumbent Natalie Peterson participated in a candidate forum today at the Hermantown Chamber of Commerce.
When questioned about a recent move by the council to eliminate post agenda sessions, both candidates said they should remain.
Both candidates were questioned on how they would encourage more business in Hermantown.
"We've come a long ways in the building of some of those bridges and not working in silos . I think we still have a ways to go with that. We do have economic development happening. It's important that we develop our good communication plan so that everybody at least feels updated with what's happening," said challenger, Natalie Peterson.
"We're very mindful of our community We're very mindful of business. The importance of it. How we handle it. I am actually very confident in the staff that I work with and think that we do a very good job with it," said City Council member Gloria Nelson.
Only two candidates are running for the open Hermantown council seat.
