St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Almost three million people in Minnesota made their way to the polls during the November election making 2012 the year to beat for voter turnout in the state.
According to the Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, 2,939,569 people cast their ballot on Tuesday during the 2012 election in Minnesota. That is about 75% of registered voters in Minnesota.
2012's voter turnout beat the previous record set in 2008 of over 2.91 million voters at the polls.
2012's record turnout keeps Minnesota at the top of voter turnout nationwide.
