Water Contact Not Recommended Advisory: Lakewalk East / 16th Avenue East Beach

An advisory has been issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) on 8/24/2010 for Lakewalk East / 16th Avenue East Beach. Elevated e. Coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected 8/23/2010 indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination. The beach is scheduled to be re-sampled 8/25/2010.

Lakewalk East / 16th Avenue East Beach is located in Duluth, on the Lakewalk, adjacent to the 16th Avenue East foot-bridge.

* Advisory Removed - Leif Erikson Park Beach
The -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory placed at Leif Erikson Park Beach on 8/20/2010 has been removed. Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

Leif Erikson Park Beach is located in Duluth, below Leif Erikson Park.

* Advisory Removed - Park Point New Duluth Boat Club / 14th Street Beach

The -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory placed at Park Point New Duluth Boat Club / 14th Street Beach on 8/20/2010 has been removed. Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

Park Point New Duluth Boat Club / 14th Street Beach is located on the harbor-side of Park Point in Duluth at 14th Street.

* Advisory Removed - Park Point 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach

The -Water Contact Not Recommended- advisory placed at Park Point 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach on 8/20/2010 has been removed. Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

Park Point 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach is located on the harbor-side of Park Point, at 20th Street.
