Kathy Boyd is the owner of KB Designs. She uses green paints and plasters to make beautiful works of art in homes and businesses.

"There's milk paint which is great because with that you can just throw the leftovers of that in your garden." Said Boyd

Milk paint comes in powder form and in a variety of colors. It can be used on a number of surfaces as well.

"Well mostly walls, but you can use them on furniture; milk paint has been used for years." Said Boyd

That's because it's a versatile and durable product. Yet it leaves little to no footprint on the environment.
Boyd has other green products in her artistic arsenal such as chalk paint, and even green plasters.

"This is a green product. And we have here, this is a lime and marble based plaster. But the thing about this is because it is natural, it does have an expiration date, so once it's been cracked open you only have a short time to use it before it goes bad." Boyd explains.

To take another green step, she reuses the plaster that might start going bad for her art work.

Boyd Notes, "And one thing is you can check with your paints too, a lot of people don't know this, but the ingredients are actually listed on the back of paints."

Common house hold paints contain VOC's, or Volatile Organic Compounds, which can be harmful for your health and the environment.
Boyd says that you can reduce the amount of VOC's by using green paints, and in turn, you can create a healthier environment in your home or business.

"A lot of people throw it down the drain, and then you'll be plugging up your drain, and its getting into the water systems, so as much as you can do for the environment the better." Boyd Said
