Eveleth, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- A seven year old boy received minor injuries after he was ejected from a car in an accident Monday morning.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on the Wilson Road in Eveleth where one car sustained heavy damage and the other was destroyed.

A witness to the accident told officers a westbound pickup truck lost control on the icy road and struck an eastbound car, causing seven-year-old Williams Evans-Peterson of Aurora, Minnesota, riding in the rear seat to be thrown from the car into the ditch nearby.

Evans-Peterson's grandmother, 46-year-old Michele Lynn Thorsen of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, both received minor injuries.

Evans-Peterson's grandfather, 52-year-old Peter Adolph Thorsen of Hoyt Lakes, was not injured, as well as the driver of the pickup truck, 30-year-old Bryan McCloud, of Virginia, Minnesota.

Evans-Peterson was transported to a Duluth hospital for a possible knee injury and is expected to be released.

Michele Thorsen was transported to the Virginia Regional Medical Center where she will be held overnight for observation.
